About the Role We are looking fora skilled individual to join our learning and development team to lead theeducation and professional development of our MHAIDS nursing workforce. As partof the Learning and Development team the Nurse Educator will primarily beresponsible for programmes and other professional activities that develop andmaintain competence and capability of our nursing workforce.

They will alsocontribute to generic workforce programmes in line with our multidisciplinaryapproach to health care delivery. DutiesDesign, deliver and support a range of education programmes.Contribute the competence and capability of our nursing workforce.Co-facilitate generic workforce programmes alongside other members ofthe learning and development team.Work alongside the DON and other senior nurses to support the growth anddevelopment of the nursing workforce.About theTeam/Service Location MHAIDS iscommitted to continuous learning and development for all our staff.

The Learning and Development team organises,coordinates, develops and delivers a wide range of programmes and learningactivities to support workforce capability and to meet sector goals andrequirements across the greater Wellington, Hutt and Wairarapa region.
The team is based at Ngā Wāhi Ākonga, Poriruahospital but work across the District to support the training requirements ofMHAIDS staff. About you The idealcandidate will be an experienced Mental Health Nurse who has a passion forsupporting the learning of others.
Youwill have experience in delivering developing and delivering training to othersand will ideally have an adult education qualification. You will be able tobring enthusiasm, innovation and passion to the role whilst being able toprioritise and balance workforce demands.

Skills &ExperienceKnowledge and understanding ofthe Treaty of Waitangi and implications in nursing practice.Completion of or enrolment in Masters of Nursing.Knowledge of quality improvementprocesses and principles.Abilityto facilitate and manage change at a local level.Specialtyknowledge and practice expertise in Mental health, addiction and intellectualdisabilities.Strengthsand recovery principles focus to your practice.Knowledge of nursing professionaldevelopment issues.Minimum practice at Expert level on PDRP or prior experience working asCNS or equivalent Senior Nursing role.Adult Education qualification desirable.Full drivers licence.The majority of the work will take place Monday to Friday during normalwork hours however there may to necessary for the Nurse Educator to workoutside these hours from time to time to ensure the educational requirements ofthe staff undertaking shift work are met.Working at HealthNew Zealand Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is'the weaving of wellness'.
