About the Role TheSpecialist Maternal Mental Health service based in Wellington has a vacancy foran experienced mental health registered nurse to join the team working in thearea of perinatal mental health.

This regional team works across Wellington,Hutt and Porirua / Kapiti and offers assessment, treatment and support topregnant and postnatal clients experiencing significant mental healthchallenge.Vacanciesin the team do not arise often and the team are passionate about this client group andtheir work.The salary range forthis role is $75,773 -$106,739.About theTeam/Service/ Location The SpecialistMaternal Mental Health Team provides services for clients who develop moderateto severe mental health issues during their pregnancy, and/or in the postnatalperiod up to 12 months after delivery at the point of referral.Clients experiencing moderate to severe mood, anxiety or psychoticdisorder, living in the greater Wellington region (Greater Wellington and Huttareas), are seen for assessment, treatment and intervention.

The team worksalongside other health care providers and offers consultation / liaison to healthprofessionals involved in the care of this client group. SMMH provides a part timeconsultation / liaison role in the Wairarapa.Opportunity to develop specialty knowledge and to work therapeuticallywith this client group and their baby and whanau at this motivating time intheir lives is potentially life changingAbout you The ideal applicant will have a mentalhealth background, experience working in community and some understanding ofissues related to the perinatal period including mother - infant relationship,attachment issues and have the ability to work therapeutically with clients andtheir whanau.Be a member of a registered professional body with NZrecognised health credentials.Have the ability to work collaboratively with clientsdeveloping therapeutic relationships, working with them and their whanau tomanage their mental health disorders.Work alongside other health care teams and services inthe community and hospital in order to support continuity of care for women.Offer direct care, co-work and consultation / liaison.Be able to identify common acute mental healthpresentations including mood and anxiety disorders, trauma, adjustment andrelated issues.The successful applicant is required to hold adriver's license as our work is mobile and includes home visiting.
