About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and motivated Head Chef to lead our kitchen operations. This is a full-time role (minimum 40 hours per week) responsible for overseeing the daily running of the kitchen, maintaining quality, and supporting other kitchen staff.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage and lead kitchen staff across all shiftsOversee food preparation and ensure consistent quality
Design, develop and cost menus and seasonal specials
Monitor stock levels, place orders and manage supplier relationships
Ensure compliance with New Zealand food safety and hygiene standards
Maintain prep systems, kitchen workflow and daily service coordination
Train, supervise and support junior staff
Work collaboratively with management team to improve systems and offerings
What We Offer:
$35–$45 per hour, based on experiencePermanent full-time role (30–45 hours per week depending on season)

Skills & Experience:
Minimum 3 years’ professional experience as a Head Chef, Sous Chef, or Senior ChefA culinary qualification or equivalent hands-on experience
Strong leadership and communication abilities
Proven experience with stock control, ordering and food costing
Ability to run a kitchen independently and confidently
Thorough understanding of NZ Food Control Plans and food safety requirements
A passion for quality, creativity, and maintaining high standards
