Mo te turanga - About the role
We are currently looking for Casual Health Care Assistants in Levin - experience preferred but not essential.
As a Health Care Assistant, you will be responsible for providing support to our residents in their daily living and social requirements. You will also encourage residents to maintain their independence and make decisions for themselves.
Your key responsibilities will be:
- Deliver the highest standard of personalised care to every Elder
- Support and encourage residents to maintain their independence and make decisions for themselves
- Assist and support the activities of daily living in a way that meets the Eden principles and the Domains of Wellbeing
- Working under the supervision and direction of the RN.
- Ensure resident's needs are attended to effectively and in a timely manner
Mo koe - About You
As well as a passion for the wellbeing of older people, you will be enthusiastic but patient and well organised with great interpersonal skills. You will share our values of empathy, compassion, and respect. In addition, you will have:
- Previous experience in aged care or other healthcare assistant or support worker role preferred
- Willingness to gain Qualifications whilst you work
- Ability to be an active member of a team environment
- Good verbal communication and documentation skills
- Basic computer skills
- Progressive pay scale: $25.04 – $31.20 per hour, based on qualifications, skills, and experience
