Account Assistant (Part-Time)

About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Account Assistant to join our team on a part-time basis. In this role, you will provide essential support to our finance function by managing day-to-day accounting tasks and ensuring accurate financial records.

This position is ideal for someone with strong accounting knowledge who is confident working both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.

• Perform daily data entry and maintain accurate accounting records
• Reconcile accounts and investigate financial discrepancies
• Assist with the preparation and filing of GST returns
• Process invoices and manage accounts receivable
• Complete supplier reconciliations
• Support month-end and year-end closing procedures
• Assist with ad-hoc accounting and administrative tasks as required

• Proven experience in an accounting or finance role (similar position preferred)
• Strong understanding of day-to-day accounting processes and reconciliations
• Experience preparing GST returns and ensuring compliance
• Proficiency in Xero, MYOB, and Microsoft Excel
• Confident phone manner with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines
• Excellent communication and relationship management skills
• Strong customer focus with high attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent organisational and time management skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Proactive, solutions-focused attitude
