About the role: We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced RN with relevant knowledge and skill as a Preop/PACU nurse to further develop their clinical leadership and expertise in this field of nursing.Supported by a dedicated team of Preop/PACU nurses, the Clinical Specialty Nurse (CSN) position is a busy and challenging role involving the leadership and coordination of Preop/PACU resources and patient flow through Preop/PACU.

Ensuring timely patient care, monitoring patient length of stay along with clinical support for the Preop/PACU team, are strong aspects of this role.The PACU department in Manukau Health Park covers Preop, PACU Stage 1 and PACU Stage 2; servicing 10 operating theatres and 2 endoscopy procedure rooms, supporting a wide variety of elective surgeries such as Ophthalmology, ORL, Urology, Gynaecology, Hands and Plastics, Orthopaedics, and General Surgery.This is your chance to be a part of the PACU team at Manukau Health Park providing a high level of leadership and professional role modelling, demonstrating your advanced clinical skills and optimising Preop/PACU utilisation and efficiency with guidance and direction from your ACNM.Essential:Registered Nurse / Registered Comprehensive Nurse qualificationA minimum of 3 years recent clinical experience in PACUCurrent, Level 3 or 4 PDRPEvidence of expertise in setting standards and managing practice to achieve theseExperience with supporting and/or driving quality initiativesA commitment to on-going trainingProven ability to negotiate and motivate staff to excelStrong leadership and communication skillsDesired:Post Graduate qualification in relevant specialty areaExperience coordinating and leading clinical teamsPlease apply online at https://careers.tewhatuora.govt.nz/locations/counties-manukau/ or for more information please contact Nancy in the recruitment centre at Nancy.Li@middlemore.co.nzApplications Close: 29th January 2026Job Number: MHP202516464
