Who we are

Thermal Pro supplies high-quality profile cut steel parts and press-braked assemblies to industry throughout the Bay of Plenty. We pride ourselves on precision, safety, and delivering work on time. We are looking for another solid operator to grow with us.

The role

• Setting up and operating a CNC plasma profile cutter, ensuring parts are cut to drawing/spec and tolerances.
• Reading and interpreting 2D drawings, dimensions, and work instructions.
• Using computer nesting software — experience is a plus, but not essential however competency using a computer is.
• Loading/unloading steel plate, staging parts for further processing or dispatch.
• Performing routine machine maintenance: nozzle changes, adjusting torch height, cleaning, safety checks.
• Maintaining high quality of output: accurate cuts, clean edges, minimal waste.
• Operating safely, using handling equipment (forklift, overhead crane etc) as required.

• A good work ethic, reliable attendance, strong attention to detail.
• Previous experience in a workshop environment is preferred (e.g. fabrication, machining, heavy equipment).
• Forklift and/or overhead crane experience strongly preferred.
• Someone practical/hands-on; CNC plasma experience is great, but we will train the right person.
• Ability to read drawings and measure (use tape measures, verniers, squares etc).

• Competitive pay, based on experience, with opportunity for overtime.
• Permanent full-time role, Mon-Fri. (minimum 30 hours)
• On-the-job CNC training provided for the right candidate.
• Good PPE, safe working environment, modern workshop.
• Potential to cross-skill in press brake / additional fabrication work / manufacturing
