Our client a well-established FMCG New Zealand distribution business is looking to hire a Pricing & Trade Analyst to work alongside the Business Manager of this FMCG Health & Beauty division. This is a passionate and experienced team that work with local and international brands.

This is a new role within the team.

As a key part of the Health & Beauty division you will turn complex market and pricing data into clear, actionable insights. You will have the ability to tell a story with the data. This data is used for decision making, pricing execution, promotional activity and category reviews and optimisation.

A hands-on role that blends technical reporting with key stakeholder engagement.

What will you be doing:

  • Analysis & Trend Insight – using market, pricing and sales data to identify trends and opportunities, risks and improvement
  • Manage and complete market price analysis for both the company and competitors including category reviews.
  • Evaluate NPD & promotional performance against plans
  • Co-ordinate the relationships between the data providers (IQVIA, Circana & AC Nielson)
  • Analyse and provide data for optimising margin performance
  • Manage sell out data reports
  • Build, maintain and evolve monthly and quarterly reporting
  • Provide data for “selling stories” for retailer category reviews
  • Manage the company Master Price Book for this division – ensure accuracy and updated
  • Support the go-to market process for NPD
  • Working across the key stakeholders including National Sales manager, key Account & Brand managers, Demand Planners, Customer Service and the wider team

What you will need to be successful:

  • Previous experience within FMCG, agency or a sales environment will be key
  • Experience working with data-driven reporting or analysis
  • Understanding of retailer pricing systems and promotional activity
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to draw actionable results
  • Very positive communication and the ability to work across the team and stakeholders
  • Comfortable working doing a variety of activity from data input, trend analysis, managing excel reports and stakeholders inside and outside the organisation
  • You will hold a Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline and/ or have solid experience in a similar role
