You'll work with national, regional and district datasets to extract, collate, and present insights that support decision-making and improve service delivery.You will be responsible for producing accurate reports, supporting responses to OIAs, parliamentary questions, and media enquiries, and contributing to performance monitoring and evaluation frameworks.Your work will help inform strategic planning and ensure accountability across the organisation.About the Service This role sits within the Health Analytics team, part of the Planning, Funding and Outcomes function. The team plays a critical role in delivering data-driven insights that support equitable, effective health services across Aotearoa.The position is based at Te Toka Tumai, Auckland, with flexible working arrangements available.
We are located centrally, in Grafton.About youAs a Health Analyst for the Health Analytics Team, you will have at least 3-5 years' experience as a Data or Business Intelligence Analyst as well as:A relevant graduate qualification, or equivalent professional experienceKnowledge of appropriate visualisation tools and data techniques to elicit high-quality insights, create and validate dashboards (e.g. requirements gathering, data cleansing, development of insights and process mapping)An excellent understanding of the fundamentals of analytics and how the discipline is used to create business and customer valueStrong communication skills with the confidence and ability to present and defend decisions in a manner appropriate to the needs of the audienceExperience with Power BI, SQL, MS Excel, data visualisation platforms, and data warehousing concepts to effectively communicate insights and support decision-makingExperience in applying critical thinking and using sound judgment to develop options and provide adviceKnowledge of the Health Sector and governmentWorking at Health New Zealand Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is dedicated to ensuring excellent healthcare for the people of New Zealand.
