Storage Consultant - StoreStuff Self Storage

We're a locally owned self-storage facility in Lower Hutt looking for a reliable, switched-on person to join us part time.
Start: In the next few weeks (negotiable)Days & hours: Fri 9am - 5pm, Sat 9am - 4pm (Saturday is essential). Potential for another weekday (negotiable).
No two days are the same - you'll be helping customers in all kinds of situations, keeping the facility running, and taking real ownership of the role. This isn't a typical office job. It involves everything from selling a unit and processing payments to debt follow-up, security, and cleaning.
We're a small, independent storage operation punching above our weight. You'll become a keyholder over time and eventually run the site independently.
WHAT THE ROLE INVOLVES- Opening and closing the facility and conducting security checks
- Greeting customers, running site tours, and finding the right solution for their needs
- Processing rentals, contracts, and payments
- Following up enquiries and overdue accounts
- Keeping the facility clean, tidy, and well-presented - including gardens and outdoor areas
- Managing retail stock (boxes, packing supplies)
- General admin, phones, and social media updates
- Bonus points if you're practically handy
- Customer service or sales experience is a big bonus
- Self-motivated and able to use your initiative
- Tech literate - comfortable with online systems and CRMs
- Well-spoken and confident on the phone
- Full NZ driver's licence
- Physically fit and happy to get involved
- Available Saturdays is a must
- Availability across the Christmas / New Year period. Note we are closed on the public holidays (as well as Xmas Eve & NYE!)
- Bonus points if you live locally
- $26–$30/hr + KiwiSaver depending on experience
- Paid trial shift to ensure the job is right for you
- Saturday is a must; the second day is flexible but ideally Friday - work with us on timing
- Paid lunch break
- Option to pick up extra days during holiday periods - up to 6 days a week (negotiable with the owner, not guaranteed)
- Flexibility around study or personal commitments (such as exam periods) with reasonable notice
- No Sundays, early starts, late nights, public holidays
