Job Purpose:
We are seeking a skilled and versatile Technicians and Trades Worker with strong carpentry skills to maintain and manage farm dwellings and infrastructure, including houses, dairy sheds, and farm sheds, across our large-scale farm operation in Canterbury.

The successful candidate will ensure that all facilities are safe, functional, and well-maintained to support farm operations.
- Minimum 30 hours per week guaranteed.
- Employee housing is provided on-site, and applicants must reside in the farm accommodation. No drive-in options available.
- Accommodation may be shared or private, depending on availability at the time of successful placement. No pets allowed.
Job Requirements:
- A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience as a tradesperson or in carpentry, OR
- A Level 5 qualification or higher in Building and construction related studies.
Applicants must have the following as per employer’s requirement:
- Must be physically fit

- Must have a driver licence
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform carpentry and general maintenance work on 125+ farm buildings, including 90 houses, 21 dairy sheds, and 60 farm sheds.
- Repair and maintain structures such as doors, windows, roofs, walls, and fences to ensure the safety and functionality of farm dwellings.
- Construct, renovate, or upgrade farm sheds, housing, and small on-site structures as needed.
- Carry out timber framing, decking repairs, and maintenance on essential farm infrastructure.
- Inspect buildings regularly to identify carpentry-related maintenance needs and address structural concerns.
- Assist with minor plumbing tasks (e.g., maintaining water systems in sheds and houses) and basic construction work.
- Coordinate with external contractors for larger-scale specialised services when necessary.
- Keep maintenance records, including logs of repairs, parts used, and schedules for future maintenance tasks.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and farm-specific safety protocols.
- Respond promptly to urgent maintenance requests to minimise disruption to farm operations.
