Seeking L3 or 4 NZQA Health and Wellbeing support worker

Care on Call is passionate about supporting people in the community and we take pride in the personalised service we deliver to clients and the staff we work with.

We are seeking a well-spoken, positive, and empathetic individual who understands the complexities of challenging behaviours and can offer patient, thoughtful support—particularly on difficult days.

We are seeking a fantastic support worker who has:

  • A strong understanding of and experience with intellectual disabilities and dementia.
  • A very active lifestyle, who is keen to go for bike rides with the client.
  • Experience working with children.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a care team.
  • Availability for outside school hours - early mornings and weekends ideally.
  • Good comprehension of directions and ability to follow tasks accurately.

What we need from you:

  • Have consistent and long-term availability (we like to ensure continuity with our clients)
  • A current, clean full driver's licence
  • Minimum of Level 3 Health and Wellbeing completed (or equivalent)
  • The legal right to work in NZ
  • Previous experience as a caregiver/support worker with similar clients
  • To be reliable, punctual, honest and caring

What we can offer you:

  • 24/7 support and a local office and manager
  • Access to some of the latest technology and resources available within the healthcare sector
  • Great hourly rates in line with the pay equity settlement
  • Annual leave, sick leave, and Kiwisaver contributions on top of your hourly rate
  • Access to a range of training resources and support to achieve NZQA-recognised qualifications
  • Comprehensive induction and personalised client training.
  • Free yearly flu vaccinations
  • Access to a free mobile smartphone (if required). Some conditions do apply
  • A company that values and supports you. We aim to get to know each staff member personally so you will never be just a number with us.

If you fit the above requirements, please apply with your CV today!

Please note only support workers currently living in Rotorua with qualifications will be shortlisted.
