Senior Support Worker
Located in Rotorua, Braemore provides a variety of services to mental health service users including packages of care, 24/7 support for adults at Wrapt, psycho-geriatric assessment and treatment options at Candid Cares and a variety of community support options.
Pay Rate: $30.00 per hour
We are seeking a permanent staff member to work alongside our tangata whaiora for a4 on 4 off rotating roster 1330-2230
- optimizing independence (this may include assisting with personal cares/housework etc) and supporting the recovery of every individual that comes into the service
- establishing affirmative, positive, honest and open relationships with clients and peers
- focusing on positive reinforcement, reward (mitigation) systems, understanding and implementing recovery support plans
- population of assessment tools
- establishing individual strengths and managing negative behaviours
There will also be an opportunity to pick up additional shifts across the organization. This position may develop into a full time role.
Minimum Requirements:- a Level 4 health qualification (or higher)
- full, clean drivers license
- basic computer skills
- excellent verbal/written communication
- NZ resident or current work Visa
- Understanding of the Treaty of Waitangi
- Knowledge of The Code of Rights
- enthusiasm and motivation for further education
- experience working in mental health and/or aged care
Honesty, empathy, compassion, integrity and accountability. An understanding that all people are equal. A willingness to engage in training and education and an ability to work both solo and within a team.
Highly Desirable:- Te Reo
- Previous experience having either used Mental Health & Addiction services and/or
- Supported whanau using Mental Health & Addiction services
