We collect, analyse and assess intelligence to protect New Zealand from threats such as foreign interference, espionage and terrorism. The teamYou will be joining the Protective Security (PS) Directorate which delivers a full range of protective security functions to the New Zealand Intelligence Community (NZIC) and for New Zealand.
You will work with a supportive and positive leadership team who lead these security functions.The roleThis is not your typical Information Technology Security Manager (ITSM) role, as you will work across the wider NZIC to achieve positive cyber and information security outcomes for the NZSIS.
The role offers broad responsibility, autonomy, and a high degree of engagement with technology practitioners, corporate and operational teams as well as senior stakeholders.The ITSM reports directly to the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), and is responsible for managing and maintaining cyber and information security processes, standards, and risks within the New Zealand Security Intelligence Service.
This means engaging with a broad range of stakeholders to help balance risks with expected mission outcomes.This is a unique opportunity for you to make a real difference. Attitude, aptitude and a willingness to learn are extremely important to us.Appointment range for this position is $142,093 - $151,566.Before you applyWorking within our unique environment means we have to ensure you're eligible for employment.You must: Have been a New Zealand Citizen for at least 10 yearsORHold a current NZ Residency Class Visa and ideally have been a citizen of the UK, USA, Canada or Australia for at least 10 years Be eligible to obtain a Top Secret Special (TSS) security clearance Ordinarily, this means you'll have a 15 year checkable background in countries NZSIS Vetting can make meaningful and reliable checks.
