Summer Student Opportunities
The team at Silver Fern Farms Pareora are offering a variety of opportunities for students to work during the holidays which will allow us to cover our busy holiday period. We are currently looking for team members to join our team on both day and night shifts.
Work will commence in November, until you recommence your studies in 2026. Or you may choose to stay with us!
Ideally, we would love to hire people who would like to progress to a career within our industry when they finish their studies either in meat processing/leadership roles/quality control or auditing/health and safety (and so much more!)
**Te mahi, our working arrangements:**- Complete your on-the-job training and earn a minimum $28.82/hr plus extras.
- Usually, 40 hours per week during peak production season, plus overtime opportunities.
- Minimum $43/hr production overtime rate.
- 8-hour shifts, day shifts and evening shifts times vary from 6:45am to 3:00pm, and 3:00pm to 12:00am.
- All work clothing and safety gear is provided.
- No experience? No problem, we provide all the training you need.
- You're an active team member who can work closely with others and bring a positive, hardworking attitude.
- Able to understand and follow health and safety, quality, and technical compliance requirements.
- Eligible to work in New Zealand.
- Must be 18 years or older to meet audit requirements.
- Able to pass our pre-employment medical checks, criminal convictions check, and physical fitness requirements
