About the Role

Right now, we're inviting student midwives, graduating in 2025 and available for the 2026 Graduate programme to put their name forward as an Expression of Interest, to Timaru Hospital.

The programme we offer is supportive and encouraging and set in a great place to begin your midwifery career. We aim to assist you in further developing your clinical practice and critical thinking skills with a programme and environment that supports your individual needs.

Our programme is designed to facilitate the smooth transition from student to practising midwife and the 14-month programme includes supernumerary, reflective, and study days.

Eligibility Criteria

The programme is available to graduate midwives who have completed their midwifery education in New Zealand and who are New Zealand Citizens or permanent residents. About the Team/Service/ Location

Jean Todd Maternity Service is based in Timaru Hospital and provides care to women in South Canterbury averaging around 550 births a year, ranging from normal and low-risk to complex and high-needs.
