Peard Excavation Ltd is a fast-growing, Tauranga-based earthworks company delivering top-quality excavation, demolition, and retaining solutions across residential, commercial, and industrial projects. As we grow, we need an experienced and motivated Office Manager to help us take things to the next level.
You’ll be the organiser, the communicator, the problem solver—and a key part of our leadership rhythm. This isn’t just admin support—it’s a role with ownership, impact, and real trust from the directors.

What You'll Be Doing- Manage all office operations, systems, and processes—your domain, your way.
- Stay one step ahead by anticipating team and business needs before they arise.
- Own and run our job management system (Simpro)—scheduling, quoting, invoicing.
- Keep our financial admin on track in Xero—AP/AR, payroll oversight, reconciliations.
- Manage health & safety records through SiteApp Pro—compliance and documentation.
- Be the first point of contact for clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.
- Follow up with the on-site team for paperwork, updates, and job details—you’re not afraid to keep the team on track.
- Support hiring, onboarding, and keeping the team humming as we scale.
- Keep the directors accountable with updates, reporting, and reminders.
- Create slick, professional proposals and internal documents using Canva.
- Jump in on business improvement projects—systems, culture, comms, and more.
- 3+ years’ experience in office management, ideally in construction, trades, or earthworks.
- Confident with Simpro, Xero, and SiteApp Pro (or quick to pick up new tools).
- Canva-savvy with great attention to design, layout, and presentation.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills—you’re calm, clear, and assertive.
- High level of professionalism—you represent the business with confidence.
- Organised and on to it, self motivated to make things better.
- Proactive, independent, and great at making decisions without handholding.
- Comfortable holding the team accountable (in the office and on-site).
- Obsessed with structure and detail—but adaptable when things change.
- A positive, practical team player who brings good vibes and solutions.
- Salary range $52K – $73K (based on skills and experience)
