Experienced Powder Coater - Christchurch
Experienced and Highly Skilled Powder Coater required for a long-standing, well-respected sheet metal manufacturer based in Hornby, Christchurch. This is your chance to join a talented workforce - consisting of mechanical engineers and designers, engineering fabricators, sheet metal technicians and other powder-coating specialists.
The plant includes CNC laser cutting, CNC turret punching and CNC press brakes, along with a batch powder coating booth and oven set up. We also operate modern business systems for managing all production work.
The position involves a wide variety of work from coating production panels by the hundreds to any weird and wonderful one-off fabrication for coating. We are after someone with extensive coating experience across a large variety of parts and materials who can take this variation in their stride.
All candidates MUST:
- Be a NZ resident or have a valid NZ work visa.
- Have proven related experience and work-related references.
- Have a keen eye for detail to match our high quality standards.
- Have experience coating a large variety of parts and materials.
- Be physically fit and healthy, the role involves some repetitive lifting and some heavy lifting.
- Be willing to rotate with other powder coaters from coating booth to prep and degreasing duties, and to do final assembly and packing work as required.
- Be well organised and work efficiently
- Be reliable, working well with others and contributing to a positive workplace culture.
- Be able to pass a drug test and have a clean criminal record.
- Be aware of, and comply with Health & Safety requirements and compliance.
- Have reliable transport to work
The ideal candidate will also:
- Have the willingness and capability to mentor and train other staff
- Have worked for a powder coating applicator with accreditation for warranty jobs.
- Have previous sheet metal experience and be willing to help out in other areas as needed
- Be able to drive a forklift (F endorsement or previous training course)
