Here at Nelson City Council, we are always striving to deliver an even better service to our community. We have an opportunity for an experienced Team Leader to join us to support a positive, friendly and capable team to be successful.

We are seeking a leader with expertise and qualifications in contract management, who has the ability to implement efficiencies and service improvements.

About you | Ko ngā pūmanawa ōu

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Demonstrate your leadership strengths and experience in leading high functioning teams and complex, high value maintenance contracts to success.
  • Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive and productive relationships with colleagues, contractors, volunteers and members of the community.
  • Have strong contract management and project management experience, including developing contract documentation,reports, contract auditing, and day to day operational management.
  • Possess financial acumen and excellent time management skills will ensure your ability to accurately forecast, analyze and manage project on time and to budget. Procurement experience would be highly desirable.
  • Proven experience planning and delivering consistent services with an eye towards making improvements and efficiencies.
  • High level of oral and written communication skills including report writing, facilitation, team collaboration, consultation, and presentation skills.
  • Have had experience in managing parks and reserves (preferred)
