About the role:
Our Medical Imaging Technologists (MITs) are responsible for performing diagnostic imaging to a high standard. We are looking for someone who is compassionate, technically skilled and thrives in a collaborative environment. The Radiology department operates a day shift 7 days a week with an overnight on call service.This roster is shared equally amongst you and your MIT colleagues.
Key responsibilities:
- Patient focused healthcare
- Radiation safety of staff and patients
- Work within the multidisciplinary team to provide diagnostic imaging.
- Perform a range of imaging from X-ray, CT , mobile and image intensifier equipment
- Operate and troubleshoot equipment
- Participate in our after hours on call service.
The salary for this position will be based on experience and in line with the Medical Imaging Technologist Collective Agreement. Additional benefits include kiwisaver contributions (if eligible), shift allowances, professional development and wellness support.

Thames Radiology is the home of general x-ray, mobile x-ray, image intensifier, computed tomography and ultrasound imaging. At Thames Radiology you will join a progressive and supportive medical imaging team that values work/life balance and career progression opportunities.We provide services to the Northern regions of Waikato and wider Coromandel and Hauraki region.

About you
Required skills and experience:
- Hold registration with the New Zealand Medical Radiation Technologist Board with a general scope of practice.
- Hold a current practising certificate
- Have excellent communication skills
- Have a strong patient focus
- Have the ability to work autonomously and within a team environment
- Utilise excellent time management and organisational skills
- CT user would be an advantage or willingness to be trained in CT
