Home Based Treatment (HBT) operates within the Crisis Assessment and Home Treatment (CAHT) team.Crisis Team:Provides support to service users experiencing acute crisis in the communityResponsible for assessment and shortterm careExperts in acute care managementOperates 24/7Home Based Treatment (HBT):Offers an alternative to hospital admissionOperates 8am8pm, 7 days per weekProvides a comprehensive, intensive package of intervention for up to 3 weeksMultidisciplinary and focused on supporting service users in the least restrictive environmentIf hospital admission is being considered, HBT is encouraged as the first option wherever appropriate.
