This is a key management and leadership role in the regional Te Manawa Taki service.The primary purpose of the role is to lead and deliver regional strategic and business planning, health in all policies approaches, including policy submissions, and performance reporting for the regional service.Travel throughout the region may be required.About the Team/Service/ LocationThe National Public Health Service (NPHS) within Health New Zealand - Te Whatu Ora, work towards Pae Ora (healthy futures) for all by engaging with the wider determinants that impact people's health, focusing on oranga/wellbeing, prevention, protection, and population-level intervention.

We are connected across boundaries to deliver public health services that are nationally planned, regionally delivered and locally tailored.About youYou are experienced in matrix and multidisciplinary working models and have proven supervision, mentoring, coaching and teaching skills.

You're experienced in applying critical thinking, using sound judgment to develop options. You have machinery of government experience and are able to identify business / project requirements, develop or contribute to strategies and plans, and prioritise the work of a team.Bachelors level qualification in a relevant field or equivalent experienceA post-graduate degree in a relevant field is desirable3+ years' experience in health planning, policy development and performance reporting Experience in leading change, innovation and service and quality improvement initiatives Full New Zealand Drivers' LicenceWillingness to travel as requiredExperience in applying critical thinking, using sound judgment to develop options and the machinery of government Able to demonstrate mature communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to write and present effectively, and to develop, unify and maintain strong internal and external relationships essential for achieving sustainable outcomesProven supervision, mentoring and coaching skills Working for Health New ZealandHealth New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is dedicated to ensuring excellent healthcare for the people of New Zealand.
