Position specifics:- This is the perfect role for an experienced diesel mechanic looking to move into the next leadership role whilst still staying on the tools.

- Our growing business requires an On-the-tools Workshop Supervisor who is reliable, driven and a team player who will slot into our vibrant crew. If this sounds like you, then we want to hear from you!
- This position is based at our Rolleston Branch in Christchurch and involves local area travel in a supplied vehicle attending the premises of our customers.
- This is a permanent full-time role and you will be employed on a minimum of 40 hours per week basis.
About the role
You will play a key role in running the day to day of job allocation, providing customer support and overseeing the workshop day to day duties, and therefore the following attributes will be favourable:- Either trade certified or five years plus industry experience working on construction equipment.
- A good understanding of mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems.
- Be flexible to work on Central Groups range of equipment which includes, forklifts, work vehicles, light and heavy equipment and small engines.
- Full NZ Class 1 & 2 driver's license and clean driving record is a must.
- Appropriate licenses for heavy trucks, construction equipment, WTR and forklift.
- Ability to lead from the front when needed and complete the necessary admin work that comes with the role.
- Ability to open a job, arrange necessary sub-contractors and finalise the machine to a high quality being either new, used or customers machines.
- To generate and maintain service work to keep the team busy.
- Report back to branch and operation managers with monthly reports and WIP
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills that leads to good customer service
