Operations Supervisor – Rope Access

Highline is looking for a capable and motivated Operations Supervisor to lead rope access teams across varied worksites in Wellington and beyond — from wind turbines and port structures to building maintenance in the city.

The role is full-time (minimum 40 hours per week), with a pay range of $70,000-$100,000/annum, depending on your experience and qualifications.

You’ll be responsible for:
  • Planning and scheduling jobs
  • Leading day-to-day operations and managing site teams
  • Overseeing safety, compliance, and gear logistics
  • Acting as the main point of contact for city-based clients

To thrive in this role, you’ll bring proven rope access leadership experience, excellent organisational skills, and a hands-on, team-first attitude.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Selecting and scheduling work teams, ensuring they’re competent and site-ready
  • Leading team briefings, managing performance, and supporting safe, efficient delivery
  • Acting as the client interface for city-based jobs, ensuring timely and professional delivery
  • Preparing health & safety and compliance documentation for daily work teams
  • Overseeing gear inventory, plant, vehicles, and supplies
  • Supporting training and induction for new team members
  • Contributing to a culture of quality, accountability, and continuous improvement
What We’re Looking For
  • IRATA Level 3 certification (essential)
  • Strong background in rope access, including worksite supervision
  • Experience across a range of tasks such as corrosion mitigation, structural maintenance, and client-facing works
  • Solid organisational and communication skills
  • A practical, solutions-focused mindset with leadership confidence
