Mobile Crane Operator
Base Construction is a family-owned Christchurch-based company specialising in concrete construction across the residential, commercial, and civil sectors.
We are seeking an experienced Mobile Crane Operator to operate a mobile crane and assist with lifting operations across our construction projects.
You will work closely with riggers, dogmen, and site supervisors to ensure lifting operations are completed safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities- Operate mobile crane safely in accordance with lift plans
- Assist with crane setup, mobilisation, and demobilisation
- Conduct pre-start checks and routine equipment inspections
- Maintain crane to a high standard
- Communicate clearly with riggers and site teams during lifting operations
- Follow company health & safety procedures at all times
- Minimum 2 years’ experience operating mobile cranes
- Relevant crane unit standards (e.g. US 3795, 3789,) or equivalent
- Full NZ Driver Licence with Class 2 or 4 and WTR endorsement preferred
- Strong understanding of safe lifting practices and site safety
- Physically fit and willing to get stuck in
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug & alcohol test
