Endoscopy Suite Whangarei HospitalPermanent full-time position (1.0FTE), working 40 hours per weekHealth New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is firmly grounded in the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and is committed to building a health system that serves all New Zealanders.About the RoleThe Clinical Nurse Specialist is an advanced nursing role and an expert in assessment skills, diagnostic reasoning, knowledge of management options and monitoring that underpins practice.Primary Functions of this role include:Management of patients along the Fit for Symptomatic pathwayProvision of pre-assessments of Endoscopy patientsSupport for the Clinical Nurse SpecialistDevelopment of a comprehensive plans for colonoscopy which includes bowel preparation, health literacy or translation support, risk management, patient and family/whanau expectations, medical management requirements and travel/accommodation support requiredProvide skilled nursing care through application of clinical knowledge and theory to nursing practice:Utilise professional knowledge and skill to provide a holistic approach to nursing care and assessments that is safe, of the highest quality possible and in accordance with:Te Whatu Ora policiesRegistered Nurse Scope of PracticeNursing Practice StandardsNursing Council of NZ Registered Nurse competenciesNZ Nursing Council code of conductPolyp Surveillance Guidelines 2024Click here to view the position description.About the LocationThe Endoscopy team at Whangarei Hospital is a dedicated and skilled group providing both acute and planned care, working collaboratively to deliver safe, patient-focused services in a dynamic clinical environment.You will participate in the Endoscopy Unit Model of Care concept providing care at all stages of the patient journey in the Endoscopy Unit pre and post op care, procedure room and recovery.
