THE ROLE
As an Experienced Concrete Placer with BCP, you’ll apply your specialised skills across various commercial projects under the guidance of our site leadership team. Your craftsmanship directly impacts the quality and durability of essential infrastructure throughout Canterbury.Although based in Christchurch, from time-to-time you may be asked to travel to projects in other parts of the South Island.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES- Prepare work areas through trenching, boxing (erecting formwork) and reinforcing installation
- Execute precise concrete pours with minimal waste and overspill
- Create professional concrete finishes using power floats and hand trowels
- Form expansion joints and edges, and install fixtures in concrete
- Operate specialised equipment including lasers, Total Station, Dipstick and Line Dragons
- Maintain tools and equipment to industry standards
- Collaborate effectively within high-performing teams
- Mentor and develop junior team members
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in the concrete industry
- Proven ability to read and interpret technical drawings
- Advanced concrete placing and finishing skills
- Meticulous attention to detail and quality standards
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for effective teamwork
- Physical capability to meet construction demands
- Awareness of, and commitment to, workplace health and safety protocols
- Full, current Class 1 NZ Driving License
- Ability to pass police checks and pre-employment alcohol/drug screening
- Full-time permanent employment with minimum 30 hours weekly
- Competitive pay of $27 to $30 per hour, depending on competency level
