About the role
As the Orchard Operations Manager at Morris Moore Farms Ltd, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the day-to-day operations of our thriving horticulture business. Based in Katikati, Bay of Plenty region, this full-time position will see you leading a team of long serving employees to ensure the efficient and sustainable management of our orchard operations.
What you'll be doing
Developing and implementing operational strategies to optimise production, quality, and profitability
Overseeing all aspects of orchard maintenance, including pest and disease control, irrigation, pollination and harvest planning
Coordinating and managing the orchard team, and contractors, ensuring effective training, performance management, and staff development
Analysing data and key performance indicators to identify opportunities for process improvements and cost efficiencies
Collaborating with the broader management team to drive the company's overall strategic objectives
Ensuring compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations
What we're looking for
Extensive experience in a senior operational role within the horticulture or agriculture industry
Strong technical knowledge of orchard management practices, including crop production, pest and disease control, and harvest operations
Proven track record of leading and motivating high-performing teams to achieve ambitious goals
Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to think strategically
Tertiary qualifications in horticulture, agriculture, or a related field would be highly regarded
Computer literacy is essential
