  • About the roleWe are seeking a reliable and responsive staff member to provide casual, on-call pastoral support for our Tauranga student accommodation facilities
  • Selwyn Street Studios and Durham Mews Apartments.This role plays a critical part in ensuring the wellbeing and safety of residents by providing after-hours support when the Residential Life Manager is unavailable.

While you are not required to remain onsite, you must stay within the Tauranga area during your rostered weekend and be available to respond promptly to any incidents or concerns.You will act as a key escalation point for student welfare matters and critical incidents, ensuring appropriate communication with University staff and external services where required.This is a casual position based in Tauranga, with weekend on-call responsibilities.

The weekend shift period commences at 4.30pm on Friday evening and continues through to 8.30am on Monday morning.

You understand the needs of university students and are confident managing sensitive situations with discretion and care.You will also bring:Current employment with the University of Waikato and based in TaurangaExperience working with university students or in a support/welfare roleStrong interpersonal and communication skillsThe ability to respond to incidents calmly and appropriatelyAvailability to be on-call during weekends and remain within TaurangaA current First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain)Experience in a supervisory or leadership role is advantageous.Ko wai matou?
