Operations Manager
Service Foods is seeking a strong, capable, and detail-oriented Operations Manager to lead our Christchurch branch.
You’ll play a key role in driving operational excellence and continuing the success of our Otautahi operations. This role reports directly to the GM – South Island.
Mō te tūranga mahi | About the role:
As Operations Manager, you’ll oversee all aspects of our established facility in Woolston, Christchurch — managing people, processes, and performance across warehouse, processing facilities, logistics, and inventory, with a strong focus on achieving DIFOT targets.
Your mahi is to grow people and operations — building capability, improving systems, and driving performance across the branch.- Key Responsibilities:
- Manage day-to-day operations including warehouse, inventory, fleet, logistics and processing facilities.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve efficiency and reduce costs
- Oversee resource allocation and scheduling to ensure timely deliveries and excellent customer service
- Lead, coach, and mentor line managers, supervisors, and frontline staff
- Monitor operational costs and implement cost-saving measures
- Ensure FIFO stock rotation and minimise errors, credits, and wastage
- Enforce health & safety and food safety protocols
- Collaborate with sales and procurement teams for seamless coordination
- Analyse KPIs and performance metrics to drive continuous improvement
- Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and operational excellence
He kōrero mōu: About you:
A tertiary qualification in business, logistics, warehousing, operations, or a related field is preferred.
You’ll bring at least 5 years of leadership experience in warehouse or logistics operations, ideally within the foodservice industry. People management skills are essential.
