About the Role
We’re looking for an experienced and reliable Machine Operator to join our team on a permanent weekend shift (Friday to Sunday, 4am–4pm, paid for 40 hours), working hands-on across CNC Laser/Plasma machines and gantry cranes in a fast-paced steel manufacturing environment.
What you will be doing:
- Operate CNC Laser and Plasma cutting machines
- Operate overhead gantry cranes to position steel plates
- Set up and feed product into machines for processing
- Load and unload steel materials and finished parts
- Assist with dispatch, including loading trucks for delivery
- Monitor cut quality and maintain production standards
- Work safely both independently and as part of the night shift team
- CNC plasma or laser machine operating experience
- Proven experience operating overhead gantry cranes
- Experience working with mild steel, plate, or heavy materials
- Ability to read and interpret drawings and measurements
- Strong understanding of machine set-up and production processes
- Confident working unsupervised on night shift
- High attention to detail with a focus on quality and accuracy
