About the role
We are seeking an experienced Sous Chef / Chef de partie to join our team at Titi Restaurant. This is a full-time position based in our restaurant in St Clair, Otago. As a key member of our kitchen brigade, you will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional dining experiences for our customers.
What you'll be doing- Assisting the Head Chef in managing all aspects of kitchen operations, including food preparation, menu planning, and staff supervision
- Preparing high-quality dishes from our seasonal, locally-sourced menu
- Maintaining strict standards of food safety and hygiene
- Providing guidance and mentorship to junior members of the kitchen team
- Collaborating with the Front of House team to ensure seamless service delivery
- Continuously seeking ways to improve efficiency and innovation in the kitchen
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a Sous Chef or Chef de partie in a reputable restaurant or hotel
- Exceptional culinary skills and knowledge of modern cooking techniques
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of food quality and presentation
- Excellent time management and multitasking abilities
- Effective communication and leadership skills to manage a team
- Passion for working with seasonal, locally-sourced ingredients
- Relevant qualifications in Culinary Arts or a related field
