Kidz Corner Miramar has an exciting opportunity for a qualified and registered ECE teacher to join our fun, supportive and dedicated teaching team in a permanent role. Student teachers currently studying towards a recognised ECE teaching qualification may be considered for the right person.

The successful applicant will:
  • Be self-motivated.
  • Have confident and clear communication skills.
  • Have a positive learning attitude.
  • Be supportive, reliable and have a sense of humour.
  • Foster relationships within the community.
  • Support children’s social and emotional development.
  • Have knowledge of Te Whaariki and learning outcomes for children.
  • Have an ECE teaching qualification recognised in NZ, as well as provisional or full registration with the NZ Teachers Council (or be studying towards this).

We are a long established and highly regarded community based ECE Centre with a warm and caring environment, catering for up to 40 children between ages 1-5 years.

We can offer you:
  • Paid first aid course.
  • A long-standing qualified teaching team.
  • Great child-teacher ratios, allowing teachers to focus on children’s learning.
  • Plenty of opportunities for professional dialogue during work hours.
  • A team that supports each other’s learning and development as teaching professionals.
  • Experienced mentors for advice and guidance programmes (if required).
  • Extended Parity pay scale for qualified & certificated teachers.
  • Consistent and generous non-contact time.
  • Plus, social evenings, shared kai at some meetings, and biscuits in the staff room!

Here’s what our whanau have said about Kidz Corner: “This day care and staff are remarkable. The teachers have cared for and taught all three of our children and are not only knowledgeable but care about each child.” “We feel so happy about how kind and supportive they are, highly recommend, we are so happy here.” “The centre is professionally run and our kids always come home laden with craft projects and stories about what they have learnt.”

The role is ideally full time, Monday to Friday, but we are willing to consider fewer days and practicum leave for the right candidate. The applicant will need flexibility to work within the rostered hours of 7.15 am and 5.30 pm, and to attend paid after-work staff meetings (one per fortnight).

Applicants must have a current NZ work visa or residency.

If this role sounds like you, please send your CV and cover letter to Helen Miller at helen@kidzcorner.org.nz (or info@kidzcorner.org.nz). Closing date is 28th February 2026, but earlier applications welcomed - to start as soon as possible.

Unsuccessful applicants may not get a response.
