Painting Trades Worker - Otago
Painting Trades Worker required all throughout the Otago region!
OneStaff is currently seeking experienced and motivated Painting Trades Workers to join our team. We are looking for individuals who are reliable, hardworking, and flexible, as you may be required to work across various locations throughout New Zealand to support ongoing projects.
Key Responsibilities:
You will be responsible for all aspects of surface preparation and the application of various coatings, including paint, plaster, epoxy, and polyurethane. Duties include, but are not limited to:- Preparing and operating on-site equipment such as scaffolding and ladders
- Protecting fixtures and surfaces prior to painting
- Preparing walls and surfaces by scraping, washing, filling holes and cracks, removing old paint, vacuuming, and sweeping
- Sandblasting and water blasting to prepare concrete and metal surfaces
- Reading blueprints and instructions to determine material and tool requirements
- Applying sealers and solvents to plaster, concrete, and wooden surfaces
- Repairing chips, holes, and cracks to ensure smooth, sealed surfaces
- Preparing and mixing paints and additives as required
- Applying finishes using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment
- Carrying out plaster and window repairs when needed
- Maintaining clean workspaces, equipment, and tools
- Adhering to on-site health and safety standards
- Performing general labouring tasks as assigned
- A minimum of 2.5 years of relevant painting experience or a formal painting qualification
- Strong time management skills and a positive, team-oriented attitude
- Flexibility to work in various locations across New Zealand
- Commitment to safe work practices and continuous learning

Location:You may be required to work in multiple locations throughout New Zealand, including Northland, Auckland, Waikato, Bay of Plenty, Hawke's Bay, Taranaki, Gisborne, Manawatu-Whanganui, Wellington, Marlborough, Nelson-Tasman, Canterbury, West Coast, Otago and Southland.
This is a permanent and full-time role. Applicants must be a NZ Citizen/Resident or should have a valid NZ work visa.
