Matsu Sushi is a busy Japanese restaurant located in the heart of Auckland’s Victoria Park Market. We take pride in delivering high-quality sushi and Japanese cuisine to our loyal customers. We are now looking for a motivated Restaurant Manager to join our team and help lead our operations.
The Role
As our Restaurant Manager, you will oversee the daily front-of-house and back-of-house operations. You will work closely with our chefs and staff to ensure excellent food quality, customer satisfaction, and efficient management of resources.
Key ResponsibilitiesPlan and develop menus in consultation with our chefs, balancing creativity, customer preferences, and cost efficiency.
Plan, organise, and promote special functions (e.g., private events, seasonal offerings, promotions).
Manage purchasing and pricing of goods, ensuring all purchases stay within budget while maintaining quality.
Maintain accurate records of stock levels, financial transactions, and daily sales.
Ensure dining facilities comply with health and safety regulations, and that they are clean, functional, and visually appealing.
Engage with customers to assess their satisfaction with meals and service, and respond promptly to feedback.
Select, train, and supervise waiting and kitchen staff, including scheduling, performance monitoring, and fostering a positive team culture.
RequirementsA tertiary degree in business, management, hospitality management, or a related field.
Strong leadership and communication skills.
Ability to work in a fast paced restaurant enviroment.
