U Sushi has been serving classic and contemporary sushi to locals

Our sushi is lovingly handmade by our sushi artisans in-store with the fresh and where possible locally sourced ingredients. We can be found at 5 different locations in Auckland with work underway to further extend our network beyond Auckland.

Our customers include our loving locals and corporates including major accounting, consultancy and law firms. We specialise in catering for corporates and functions (no function is too big for us to handle) and make catering easy for your next event with delivery within Auckland.

Job position: Cook

Guaranteed hour: a minimum of 30 Hours per week between Monday - Friday 7:00am-3:00pm.

Responsibilities:

• Preparing and assembling ingredients for menu items.
• Preparing high-quality meals and food items according to company recipes.
• Storing excess food at the correct temperature in order to avoid spoilage.
• Ensuring that food portions and food presentation meet company standards.
• Monitoring supplies and re-ordering stock as needed.
• Ensuring that cooking utensils are clean before each use.
• Cleaning and sterilizing food preparation areas.
• Assisting other cooks to ensure that food orders are completed in a timely manner.
• Efficiently resolving problems with customers’ orders.
• Ensuring that food health and safety regulations are followed.

Requirements:

• At least 2 year of work experience working as a cook or chef in commercial kitchen
• Experienced in cutting sashimi and rolling sushi is ideal
• Team player
• Have a positive, can-do attitude
• Desirable work ethic (e.g. punctual, honest)
• The ability to stand for extended periods of time
