We are currently seeking Casual Train Hosts to join our onboard hospitality team, delivering memorable rail journeys through the spectacular landscapes of New Zealand's South Island.
This is a unique opportunity for someone who enjoys hospitality, tourism, and connecting with people from around the world, while working in one of the most scenic "offices" imaginable.
As an onboard host, you will play a key role in creating an exceptional guest experience. With a warm, engaging and professional approach, you'll welcome guests, provide food and beverage service and ensure every passenger enjoys a comfortable and memorable journey.
This is a casual position based around a schedule of train journeys and events, which may vary depending on operational requirements.
Key Responsibilities & Skills:- Deliver exceptional onboard hospitality and guest services
- Serve food and beverages efficiently and professionally
- Handle cash and EFTPOS transactions accurately
- Assist with guest information and provide commentary when required
- Excellent communication skills and clear spoken English
- Maintain a welcoming, friendly, and professional environment on board
- Ensure responsible service of alcohol and compliance with host responsibility guidelines
- Maintain cleanliness of carriage areas and assist with housekeeping tasks
- Support guest safety and ensure platform safety procedures are followed
- Work collaboratively with the onboard team to deliver a seamless travel experience
We are looking for someone who is friendly, professional, reliable, and confident interacting with people from diverse backgrounds.
You will also have:- Good organisational and time management skills
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to safety, cleanliness, and presentation
- A professional appearance and pride in representing the brand
- Physical capability to stand and move throughout the journey
- Knowledge of New Zealand history, culture, landscapes, and tourism destinations is an advantage.
- Bar Managers License
