This is a permanent, full-time role.As a Public Health Policy and Equity Senior Advisor, you will hold strong subject matter expertise, writing and relationship skills, can lead projects of work and will provide leadership on a mix of short- and longer-term mahi.

This will include analysis of significant policy developments/changes impacting public health, preparation of policy papers and technical advice and horizon scanning to identify emerging issues and opportunities of significance to the Public Health Service within the Northern Region.About the Team/Service/ LocationThe NPHS within Health New Zealand - Te Whatu Ora, work towards Pae Ora (healthy futures) for all by engaging with the wider determinants that impact people's health, focusing on oranga/wellbeing, prevention, protection, and population-level intervention.

We are connected across boundaries to deliver public health services that are nationally planned, regionally delivered and locally tailored.About youYou will have experience in developing policy, working with, influencing and leading a range of stakeholders.

You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to work across government and various organisations to understand and bring together a range of perspectives.A minimum of 5 years relevant experience in health, public sector or local government policyExperience in an advisory role, applying critical thinking and using sound judgement to develop options and provide adviceSome leadership experience, that may include having designed and managed a project of work and resourcesDemonstrable understanding & experience working in partnership with Māori and/or Pacific People communitiesDemonstrable understanding of, and commitment to, the specific relationship under te Tiriti o Waitangi, and Health NZ's role in improving outcomes for iwi and Māori communities.Working for Health New ZealandHealth New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is dedicated to ensuring excellent healthcare for the people of New Zealand.
