You will deliver public health nursing services across the community. Public health nursing includes assessment of population health, attention to the multiple determinants of health, an emphasis on primary prevention, and continued commitment to best evidence based public health nursing practice.This is a part time, permanent role.About the Team/Service/ LocationOur public health nursing team is part of the National Public Health Service (NPHS) within Health New Zealand - Te Whatu Ora, and work towards Pae Ora (healthy futures for all) by engaging with the wider determinants that impact people's health, focusing on oranga/wellbeing, prevention, protection, and population-level intervention.

About youAs a successful candidate, you will show and understand the importance of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and are skilled in applying its principles effectively in your role.
You build and maintain positive relationships at all levels and models an agile approach -try new approaches, learn quickly, adapt fast. You are able to utilise advanced nursing knowledge and skills through reflective practice, critical thinking and professional judgement to provide competent care and advice while working to top of scope.Current registration with Nursing Council of New Zealand as a Registered Nurse.Holds a current Annual Practising CertificateHold a minimum of a competent portfolio in an approved PDRP or equivalent with a commitment to continue through the programmeDemonstrated competence in application of Māori health models to Nursing practice.Demonstrated ability to work within a multidisciplinary team environmentDemonstrated time management skillsProven experience using Patient Management SystemsAn eye for detail and commitment for continuous quality improvementExcellent interpersonal and communication skillsFull Drivers LicencePreferred but not essential:Paediatric nursing experiencePublic health nursing experienceAuthorised vaccinatorWorking at Health New ZealandHealth New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is dedicated to ensuring excellent healthcare for the people of New Zealand.
