  • About the Role: The Energy Markets Programme is a key initiative within MBIE, focused on ensuring New Zealand has a secure and affordable energy system.

We are looking for a proactive and organised Project Coordinator to support the delivery of multiple workstreams within this complex and high-impact programme.

In this role, you'll provide essential coordination and administrative support across the programme, including tracking progress, managing documentation, supporting financials, and reporting on deliverables.
You'll take a lead role in organising project resources, maintaining project documentation, and supporting governance processes such as meeting preparation and stakeholder engagement.
You'll also contribute to improving project practices and standards, ensuring compliance with project governance arrangements, and identifying and escalating risks and issues.
Your work will help maintain alignment between key project documents and ensure a full audit trail through quality assurance documentation.

  • Skills and Experience Required
  • At least 2 years' experience in policy project coordination or similar roles• Strong organisational and prioritisation skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment• Excellent written and oral communication skills• Proven experience providing administrative and coordination support• Ability to work collaboratively across teams and with a wide range of stakeholders• Experience using project management tools such as MS Project Server• Knowledge of project management methodologies; PRINCE2 certification is desirable• Strong relationship management and influencing skills• Delivery-focused with a can-do attitude• Must be a New Zealand citizen or hold the right to live and work in New Zealand Ētahi kōrero mō MBIE
