The Gig:
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled gardener to join our team, responsible for maintaining and enhancing various landscapes across Christchurch. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of plant care, the ability to operate a range of machinery (excluding chainsaws), and the confidence to work independently with minimal supervision.
As part of your role, you will:
- Plant and Weed Identification: Accurately identify and distinguish between desirable plants and weeds to ensure optimal garden health.
- General Gardening Duties: Carry out tasks such as planting, pruning, watering, fertilising, mulching, and soil preparation for a variety of plants, shrubs, and trees.
- Pest and Disease Management: Monitor and manage plant health, promptly addressing pest infestations and diseases.
- Machinery Operation: Safely operate gardening machinery, including lawnmowers, hedge trimmers, and leaf blowers. (Chainsaw operation is not required.)
- Trailer Handling: Confidently back and maneuver trailers in various environments.
- Independent Work: Take ownership of tasks, prioritising and completing them efficiently without direct supervision.
- Maintenance and Repairs: Conduct minor repairs on tools and machinery as required, while ensuring workspaces are maintained clean and organised.

The Goods:
- Proven experience in gardening, landscaping, or a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of horticultural practices and plant care techniques.
- Proficiency in operating and maintaining gardening equipment.
- Valid driver's licence with experience in backing and handling trailers.
- Excellent time management and self-motivation.
- Physical fitness to perform outdoor manual tasks in varying weather conditions.
- Relevant horticultural qualifications or certifications are advantageous.
