The role:

• You will be the on-site lead for our garden maintenance and tidy-up work
• Run a small crew on regular maintenance runs and one-off tidy-up jobs
• Trimming hedges, pruning, lawns, weeding, mulching, planting, the full mix
• Talk with clients, agree on the plan, and make sure they are happy when you leave
• Use our job app to see your day, log time and upload before and after photos, and administrative work to keep jobs running on track
• Keep the lock-up tidy and organised
• Be responsible for tool maintenance and making sure that the tools that go out, come back!
• Keep an eye on vehicles and gear, and flag services or repairs
• Help tighten up our systems so each week runs smoother
• When there is a gap in the schedule, you keep things running like a well-oiled machine

What you bring:

• Essential 3 years plus in professional gardening or landscaping
• Must be confident working independently as well as in a team
• Essential to have professional hedge trimming skills (nice clean lines) and competent at pruning, not butchering
• Experienced in landscape construction, and Readylawn installation is a bonus!
• Solid lawn and general garden maintenance skills
• Essential experience leading a small crew or at least being second in charge
• Excellent communication, reliable, on time, and good work ethic
• Must be able to pass a drug and alcohol test
• Must be comfortable using a phone app for jobs and time sheets, or keen to learn
• Must have a full driver's licence, be able to drive a manual, and have your own vehicle
• Confident driving and reversing a trailer
• Must have the legal right to work in New Zealand
• Attitude is everything. Pride in your work is non-negotiable.

• $26 to $32 per hour, depending on experience and how quickly you can take the lead
• Around 30 to 40 hours per week, a mix of on-site work, light admin work and keeping tools and vehicles serviced
• Paid trial shifts before the new year so we can both test the fit
• Official start early to mid-January with a three-month review
• Work in a small, positive team, where your voice is heard
• The chance to help shape how the maintenance side of Urban Eden grows
