About the RoleAn exciting opportunity has arisen for an occupational therapist to join our Thames based allied health team covering the inpatient ward setting. This position is ideal for an occupational therapist who is keen to advance their career with the support and enthusiasm of a close-knit team.
This position is ideal for an occupational therapist who is self-motivated, able to work independently at delivering services to patients. The role requires the successful applicant to be adaptable to change, resourceful and flexible to service needs and to have a genuine passion for working with patients and their whānau on their health journey.

Key responsibilitiesProvide high quality occupational therapy services to referred clients and be responsible for treating patients/service users with respect, dignity, and compassion.Demonstrate a professional attitude and commitment to the team, practising within your scope of practice and ensuring effective communication occurs at all levels to achieve service objectives.Ensure the occupational therapy service delivery is enhanced and maintained.Provide agreed education and training for, clients and carers/ whānau.Maintain accurate clinical documentation.

Click here to view the position description. About the ServiceAllied Health is a department of the Waikato District that provides Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Speech & Language Therapy, Dietetic, Audiology & New Born Hearing screening, Social Work, and Psychology services.

Staff within these professions are all involved in direct client care and work in a wide range of situations to improve the health and wellbeing of the people they work with. About youNZ OT registration and a current annual practising certificate.Current valid full New Zealand drivers licence.The ability to work autonomously and collaboratively as part of the occupational therapy and wider multi-disciplinary team across a variety of environments.Excellent communication skills to effectively liaise with patients, their whānau, and other health care professionals.
