About the Role
We are seeking an Occupational Therapist to work closely with the multi-disciplinary team to deliver ward-based therapeutic activities and interventions.
The Occupational Therapist will use excellent assessment skills, make occupational formulations, create and evaluate treatment plans, and contribute to care planning that is tangata whaiora led. The role requires flexibility and the ability to respond to fluctuating mental states, while maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment.

About the Team/Service
We currently have positions in our adult acute mental health in-patient unit, which will relocate into a brand-new state of the art building later this year. We also have a position in our new medium secure forensic rehabilitation ward, Puna Taupua.

About you- Registration with the Occupational Therapy Board of NZ with a current annual practicing certificate
- Experience in upholding Te Tiriti principals and frameworks, and the application of Matauranga Maori and Kaupapa Maori approaches, particularly as they apply in healthcare settings
- Experience working in a health care setting, preferably mental health
- Passion for making a difference to the lives of our tangata whaiora and whanau
- Motivation and drive
- Ability to demonstrate a high level of interpersonal and communication skills
- A full NZ drivers license
