We provide Signals Intelligence and Cyber Security and resilience to organisations of national significance to successfully navigate in an unpredictable world.The roleWe are currently on the hunt for an intermediate level System Administrator to provide support to this great team, and in turn, help the wider intelligence community keep up with technology requirements.
You will join a collaborative, friendly and productive team who pride themselves on being able to provide exceptional service to customers across the NZIC.Your role your will include service centre components, however there will be variety in what you do, and you will have the opportunity to work cross-functionally and support the breadth of our Technology Directorate's infrastructure and technology.
This position is based in our Auckland office and will require travel (approx. once a fortnight) to Wellington during the first 6 months. This will likely reduce to once a month, however flexibility to accommodate this will need to be considered.
Responsibilities of the role will include: IT Service desk User account management System administration, management and maintenance Management of the configuration and operation of client-based computer operating systems Monitoring of systems Customer liaison and coordination with internal and external Agencies Change and impact notificationWho we're looking forFirst and foremost, you will have a genuine interest in technology.
You will also have exceptional problem-solving skills, top-notch communication skills and a results-oriented mind-set with a desire to never stop learning! We are looking for people who have a drive for continuous improvement and change, whilst also being process oriented.
You will also have: Demonstrated experience in system administration of either Windows or Linux-based systems OR network administration Demonstrated experience with databases, networks (LAN, WAN) and patch management Knowledge of system securityDue to the majority of the team being based in Wellington, we are looking for someone who has a strong ability to be self managing and who is comfortable working autonomously.
