A well-established Chinese restaurant located in Mt Albert, Auckland, is seeking two experienced full-time Chinese Cooks (minimum 30 hours per week) to join our dynamic team.

We are looking for positive, ambitious individuals who are confident in their culinary skills, capable of working independently, and able to remain composed in a fast-paced environment. As our restaurant operates seven days a week, offering both lunch and dinner services, you will be required to work on a rotating roster, including nights, weekends, and split shifts.

• Pay rate: $26.00 – $28.00 per hour (depending on skills and experience)
• Minimum of two years’ proven experience in a commercial kitchen, specialising in authentic Chinese cuisine
• Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and split shifts
• Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations
• Ability to work efficiently while maintaining high-quality standards
• Creativity and innovation, with the ability to contribute new menu ideas and earn the respect of the team

• Prepare, season, and cook dishes quickly and efficiently while ensuring high quality
• Prepare meals for customers with special dietary requirements
• Monitor and manage stock levels, ensuring food quality and freshness
• Correctly preserve and store food, including freezing when required
• Enforce hygiene and sanitation standards to maintain a safe working environment
• Plan and develop new recipes in line with customer expectations and culinary trends
• Train kitchen staff on new recipes, cooking techniques, and equipment use; supervise food preparation activities
