About the Role
We are looking for an organized and customer-focused Service Advisor to join our busy heavy diesel workshop in Otahuhu. This role acts as the key link between customers, mechanics, and management, ensuring jobs are scheduled efficiently, repairs are communicated clearly, and equipment is returned to customers on time.
You will be working with contractors and operators servicing heavy machinery used in civil construction, transport, and asphalt operations.
Key Responsibilities- Act as the main point of contact for customers bringing equipment into the workshop.
- Open, manage, and close service jobs and work orders.
- Schedule and coordinate workshop bookings and technician workloads.
- Communicate diagnostics, repair options, costs, and timelines to customers.
- Prepare estimates, quotes, and invoices.
- Order and coordinate parts required for repairs.
- Keep customers updated on job progress and delays.
- Ensure accurate job documentation and service history records.
- Work closely with mechanics to prioritize urgent repairs.
- Maintain a high level of customer service and professionalism.
- Assist with warranty claims and supplier communication when required.
- Previous experience as a Service Advisor, Service Coordinator, or Workshop Administrator.
- Experience in heavy diesel, transport, construction equipment, or automotive workshops preferred.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple jobs in a fast-paced workshop.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Confident using workshop management systems and basic computer software.
- Mechanical understanding of heavy equipment is an advantage.
