School Office Receptionist – Papamoa Primary School

- Hours: 8:00am – 3:00pm daily, term time only

Papamoa Primary School is seeking a Receptionist to be the face of our front office and the heartbeat of our day-to-day operations. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a busy school environment and values making a positive difference for our community.
About the Role:You’ll be the first point of contact for visitors and phone calls, and the go-to person for a wide range of school support duties including:
Reception and front-desk coordinationFirst aid and sickbay care (we’ll provide training if needed)
Daily communication with whanau and staff
Uniform sales and EFTPOS handling
Helping set up and pack down staff morning teas
Collaborating on social media and school communications
Printing Reports and Certificates
Supporting tamariki and staff with the little things that make a big difference!
You’ll be part of a close-knit office team that includes a Business Manager and Office Administrator. Each person has a clearly defined role, but we work together to support one another—and our tamariki—each day.
We’re Looking For Someone Who Is: Friendly, calm, and professional with excellent people skills
Highly organised and unflappable in a busy environmentDigitally confident – ideally experienced in Google Workspace and Canva
Happy to roll up their sleeves—from photocopying to dishwashers to scraped knees
Trustworthy, respectful, and a true team player
Comfortable working with children and confident using good judgement
Preferred Experience: Previous experience in a school or front-desk role
Familiarity with systems like Seesaw, Edge, or Kindo (willingnessFirst aid training (or a willingness to undertake it)
Understanding of te reo Maori or tikanga Maori (or openness to learning)
