You'll develop and deliver high-quality advice enabling both agencies to take a strategic approach in the work they do. Whether your expertise is in international engagement, national security policy or you're a policy generalist, we have opportunities across two teams working at the forefront of matters that have a real impact and will directly contribute to the national security of New Zealand.About the roles: In these roles you will be part of a team which provides support and advice to the Directors-General and the Minister Responsible for the GCSB and the NZSIS.
We are ideally looking for candidates who have public sector policy experience and a proven ability to provide high quality, well-informed and relevant advice. It goes without saying that initiative will be a key strength of yours.These are unique opportunities to contribute to varied and exciting work programmes in a complex fast-paced environment which will require you to navigate quickly through complex and often ambiguous situations.About you: You will be a policy professional who brings: Knowledge and experience in the public sector in strategic policy development or international engagement, analysis and providing policy advice to Ministers and/or Ministers' offices.
A strong understanding of international engagement or machinery of government and as well as planning and reporting processes. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with an ability to liaise and collaborate effectively at all levels, and build and maintain strategic relationships.Comfort working with ambiguity, and the ability to cut a clear path through complexity.These roles will suit highly motivated individuals who wants to further develop and broaden their skills in policy development, analysis and advice, or international engagement in a dynamic environment.
