Your Impact:
Our Media team plays a critical role in delivering live race-day content to customers across Australia and New Zealand. This role leads Broadcast Channels Operators while staying hands-on in studio directing across Trackside 1 and 2, live racing, and key programming.You’ll shape broadcast quality, team capability, and customer experience by keeping our channels sharp, consistent, and race-ready every day.
Working closely with Directors, presenters, and wider Media and Business teams, you’ll help bring strategy to life while mentoring and developing talent. With exposure to live production, leadership, and cross-functional projects, this role offers a clear pathway to broader media leadership and senior broadcast operations roles.
A Day in the Life:
Based in our Auckland studio, you’ll be part of a fast-paced live broadcast operation. This role offers variety, with shifts that can occur at any time across weekdays, weekends, and public holidays in line with racing schedules. Here’s a snapshot of your day:
- Mentor Broadcast Channels Operators to deliver race-ready, high-quality production.
- Drive team performance through rostering, coaching, and ongoing development.
- Direct Trackside 1 & 2 programming, live racing, and recorded shows.
- Oversee presenters and crew across control rooms and remote locations.
- Contribute to creative projects, programme design, and process improvements.
- Maintain training materials, style guides, and skill-refresh programmes.
Your Strengths:
- Experience as a Director in television or live broadcast production.
- Tertiary qualification in broadcasting or a related field would be desirable.
- Practical knowledge of TV production, studio operations, and broadcast workflows.
- Strong computer skills and familiarity with broadcast systems and tools.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to lead and collaborate with teams.
- Attention to detail and proven ability to multitask and make decisions under pressure.
